The snuff bottles is a traditional item in a Mongolian man's possessions. It is passed with the lid slightly open in the upturned palm of the right hand. One can open it and take a pinch of tobacco with a tiny spoon-like scoop attached to the lid, or just sniff at the half open lid and pass it on. The bottles are made of precious stones, wood or porcelain and often carried in beautifully embroidered pouches.
